Timber Project with Materials Provided by Desong Wins BC International Wood Design Award 2019
The 2019 Wooden Architecture Design Award, hosted by Wood WORKS BC, was announced at the Vancouver Convention Center on March 4.
The award aims to recognize companies or individuals that have achieved outstanding results in timber construction and design and advocate an innovative use of timber.
The timber project from Chongqing, China-Longhu Liangjiang Long Beach Yuanlu Community Center won the International Timber Design Award.
Air New Zealand to Build the World's Largest Single-arch Wooden Hangar
Air New Zealand will build a new 10,000-square-meter hangar at its engineering site in Auckland.
The airline says it will be the world's largest single-span wooden-arch aircraft hangar.
The new Hangar 4 will be 1.5 times larger than the airline's current largest hangar. It will be able to accommodate both one wide-body aircraft, such as a Boeing 777-300 or 787-9, and two narrow-body aircraft, such as an A320 or A321neo.
